Welcome To Crossroads Designs
Mission:
To provide quality decorated apparel to the souvenir and Christian retail markets at reasonable prices with the highest level of customer service, to create careers for dedicated employees, and a dependable vendor for our loyal customers.
Beginning:
Crossroads Designs, LLC was established in September of 1993, in a small 1,000 square foot warehouse in southwest Missouri. We (Mark and Matt McKnelly) left school at Missouri State University to become entrepreneurs in a screen printing business. With a total of 8 years experience in the industry, we opened up with only ourselves, an artist, and a bookkeeper. With a mixture of custom designs and a start up line of ladies gold foil print designs, we muddled along with very slow growth in the beginning. In November of 1995 we exhibited at the Smoky Mountain Gift Show in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and used that market as a spring board to massive growth in the souvenir retail market.
Success:
Around the year 2000, Crossroads diversified by expanding into the Christian retail market. This addition to our souvenir retail & custom business was instrumental in doubling our sales over these past eight years. An important factor for the growth in the Christian market was attaining the license for VeggieTales. In January 2007 we signed our second three year contract with Big Idea, Inc. for the VeggieTales apparel license, and look for large increases with a major motion picture scheduled for spring 2008.
Progress:
Now Crossroads owns its own 22,000 square foot building on three acres, where we’ve created jobs for more than 50 employees in Nixa, Missouri. Since our modest beginnings, three more auto- matic presses now sit on the floor running two shifts daily, joining an embroidery department with fifty seven heads of embroidery, a five artist staffed art department, a full service in-house office including three customer service reps, and a finishing department to handle all of the post-production customer requirements now necessary in both of our major markets.
Vision:
As Crossroads Designs, LLC enters its fifteenth year, it does so with a fresh new approach to doing business. In the fall of 2006 we began to manage our company under open-book management principles, and now share twenty-five percent of net profits with our employees. These dramatic moves in how to operate the business are designed to create an institution in Crossroads, rather than just a company. Such coordination, stability, and dedication will have a profound effect on how our business-minded employees approach serving you as a valued customer.
Our Gratitude:
On behalf of all fifty-plus employees at Crossroads, ownership would like to thank those of you who have given us business previously, and to the new prospective customers, we welcome you to our website and invite you to begin your experience with us soon.
